RFA nomination

Hi UkPaolo, I'm sorry that you couldn't accept Bling-chav's nomination. I didn't know he was acting in bad faith, and I should have checked his edits before voting. By the way, I think you're a great editor, and you're certainly qualified to become a sysop. I'm going on a temporary wikibreak right now, but when I return I'd like to nominate you. Would you accept? Mushroom (Talk) 22:21, 2 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Mushroom, many thanks for your message. I would gratefully accept such a nomination :o) Enjoy the break! UkPaolo/talk 21:52, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

RfA Thanks!

Okay, this is perhaps a bit overdue, but thank-you for your support in my recent RfA! I passed with a final vote count consensus of (82/1/0), which was a lot of support that I really appreciate. I'll try to live up to the expectations; and on that note, if there's ever something I do wrong (or don't do right), please spit in my general direction. Cheers! --PeruvianLlama(spit) 05:31, 4 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

From 68.45.196.37

Thanks for taking the time to welcome me to wikipedia. In your welcome message you have informed me that "...we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material...". Great, I understand completely and had I been the one who added the so called 'copyrighted' material I would be happy to apologize for it. Unfortunately all I did was add a blockquote and attribute a source to the obvious plagiarism, as the contents on wikipedia resembled a press release I read not too long ago. Perhaps if you had viewed the history a little closer you would have discovered this.

Thank you

For your welcome. I wonder if you are correct in mentioning that I do not have to get an account? A user called Wahkeenah is claiming that I do, in rather agressive tones - could you please clarify? THank you! 67.40.249.122 04:56, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry if I didn't answer earlier (I was on wikibreak). Of course you don't have to register, but it would be better: Wikipedia receives a lot of vandalism, and it's difficult to trust anonymous users. Please remember to follow Wikipedia policies when editing, in particular WP:NPOV and WP:3RR. If the other editors don't agree with your edits, try to explain them on talk pages, and hopefully you will reach a compromise. Mushroom (Talk) 01:46, 11 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

RFA

Hi, just wanted to thank you for voting on my RFA, which went through with a count of (58/0/1), far better than I'd expected. I intend to take things slowly and start using the extra abilities gradually, but if there's anything I can do just leave a message. Cheers, CTOAGN (talk) 13:54, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

My RfA

Thank you for your support on my request for adminship. It ultimately succeeded with votes of 52/1/2, so I am now an administrator. Should you have any questions, comments, complaints, or requests at any point in the future, please do not hesitate to let me know on my talk page or via e-mail.

Adminship Vote

I want to sincerely thank you for voting on my successful adminship nomination. Whenever I mess up, please let me know. I want to learn from my mistakes so they don't become patterns. Superm401 - Talk 05:30, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

iTunes info

I added some more information to the iTunes article with another hidden reference. I would (again) appreciate it if you would give the article a look and un-hide it if you find it worthy, as it would violate NPOV for me to do so, being an admin on the site that published the article. Thanks in advance. uriah923(talk) 08:12, 11 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Uriah, unfortunately I can't do that because of the spam blacklist. I'm sorry. Mushroom (Talk) 01:13, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
That's odd. There was an issue way back when with links to OmniNerd, but that has long since been resolved. As far as I know, Essjay was never involved in any of the disputes. He even listed it as .org, which forwards to the actual site, a .com. I guess I'll take this up with him, but I would ask you to reconsider in the mean time. I can find nothing on the WP policy on spam that would qualify it as such - especially since I am going out of my way to ensure NPOV. uriah923(talk) 01:57, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ah. I see now that Barefootguru removed both links. He has some history with the previously resolved O-Nerd issue. I can only assume that he is not aware of the current state of things. I've commented on this on his talk page, if you care to follow along. uriah923(talk) 03:43, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I'd like to see his explanation for the removal, since the linked article seemed relevant. Mushroom (Talk) 03:47, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Barefootguru said he was required to remove the links; it wasn't because he was opposed to them. I assume that's because of the blacklist thing, but I'm not sure how that whole process works. I suggest we move the discussion to the iTunes talk page so you, Barefootguru and I can get the opinions of other interested editors. Please come comment. uriah923(talk) 05:54, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Essjay updated his info. Please see my comment on the iTunes talk page and the blacklist talk page. uriah923(talk) 02:25, 13 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
The blacklisting was removed and I fixed the link text on the iTunes article. I would appreciate it if you would review the links (again) and uncomment them if you deem it appropriate. uriah923(talk) 07:06, 13 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Commenting on talk pages

As someone who exhorts others to comment on talk pages before making changes, you aren't doing a very good job of practicing what you preach. Nohat 00:16, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have clearly stated my opinion at Talk:iTunes and I'm going to comment at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks). This is a major change and it would affect a lot of articles: you should have proposed it on the talk page and waited before adding it to the MoS. And I'm slow, give me some time :) Mushroom (Talk) 00:23, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

My RfA

Thanks for taking the time to vote in my RfA, and for welcoming me to the fold. My RfA passed with a final vote of 54/2/1 despite my obvious inadequacy for the job. I'll do my level best to use the mop and bucket — or, as I said in my RfA, plunger — responsibly. Of course, in the best tradition of politicans everywhere, I've already broken a campaign promise (I blocked a vandal last night despite having said "I don't anticipate using the blocking tool very often"). Nevertheless, I'll try not to let the unbridled power corrupt me. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 14:56, 14 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks from me, too, for the kind words at my talk page, and for your support at RFA. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for healthy adminning, or if you see me screwing up. :) Chick Bowen 16:15, 14 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you
