Griffin Dunne (nato l'8 giugno 1955 a New York) è un attore e regista americano. He is the son of producer/writer Dominick Dunne, brother of actress Dominique Dunne, and the nephew of John Gregory Dunne and Joan Didion. He was married (1989) and divorced (1995) from the American actress Carey Lowell with whom he has one daughter, named Hannah Dunne.

As of 2004 he has appeared as an actor in nearly 40 films and TV movies, starting with The Other Side of the Mountain in 1975. He has produced and/or directed more than 10 other features and has made numerous TV appearances, including Frasier, Saturday Night Live, Alias and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Notable Performances

My Girl (1991) as Jake Bixler, Johnny Dangerously (1987) as Tommy Kelly, Who's That Girl? (1987) as Loudon Trott, After Hours (1985) as Paul Hackett, and An American Werewolf in London (1981) as Jack Goodman.

Jack in "American Werewolf" is perhaps his most remembered role as the sidekick to David Kessler, who was played by David Naughton. The duo, savaged by a werewolf in Northern England, leaves Jack undead and David gradually turning into the titular monster.

Dunne's turn is macabrely humorous as he returns throughout the film in the company of Kessler's other progressively more putrid victims to implore David to kill himself before he turns into a full-fledged monster and wreaks havoc on the terrified citizens of London.
