This is an old revision of this page, as edited by E71 (talk | contribs) at 18:55, 13 April 2006 (Don't need to mention i-mate k-jam as it's already pointed out above.). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

The HTC Wizard is a Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition-powered left-side QWERTY slide smartphone manufactured by High Tech Computer Corporation of Taiwan under the code name WIZA100, WIZA110 and WIZA200. WIZA100 and WIZA200 are different in appearance only (WIZA200 is shown on illustration). WIZA110 has the same design as WIZA100, but does not have a camera.

Registry Fixes

All incarnations of the HTC Wizard except the i-mate K-Jam come shipped with the 802.11g wireless mode disabled. You may re-enable it by using any Windows Mobile compatible software that supports registry editing such as 'Total Commander CE' (tip: to browse the registry, set the ___location to '\\\registry\').

You would simply need to add a Dword named dot11SupportedRateMaskG with a Decimal value of 8 to the following ___location in your HTC Wizard's registry: \HKLM\Comm\TNETWLN1\Parms\

Finally, you would need to 'Soft Reset' your phone by either switching your phone off then on or by pressing the tiny reset button on the side of your phone.

Remember to take care when editing your registry as it contains sensitive data which could cause malfunctions if not used properly.
