The Marriott Marquis is a 3-star Marriott Hotel and the 11th tallest skyscraper in Atlanta, Georgia. Designed by Atlanta architect John Portman, It is probably one of the most well-recognized buildings in the city. Because of its noticeable bulging base, it is often referred to as the "pregnant building". Construction was completed on the building in 1985.
One of the defining features of the Marriott Marquis is its large atrium. The atrium spans the entire height of the building and consists of two vertical chambers divided by elevator shafts and bridges. It is often noted as one of the largest hotel atriums in the world.
The blue and red structures near the top of the north face (visible in photo) is a window washer rig which holds the window washers and their equipment against the side of the building.
