The horse and buggy was a carriage drawn by a horse. It was a common means of transport in some places before the invention of the automobile. Today most often used in a metaphorical sense, meaning "non-modern" or obsolete; however, it is frequently used by the Pennsylvania Dutch as a means of transportation.
