Bishop of Salford

The Bishop of Salford is the Ordinary of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Salford in the Archdiocese of Liverpool.

The diocese covers an area of 1,600 Km² of Greater Manchester and adjacent parts of the County of Lancashire. The see is in the town of Salford in the City of Manchester where the seat is located at the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Evangelist.

The diocese was erected on 29 September 1850 from the Vicariate Apostolic of the Lancashire District. The present bishop is the Right Reverend Terence John Brain, the 10th Bishop of Salford.
