The Chołodecki (a.k.a. Cholodecki / Hołodecki / Holodecki) surname derives from the village of Chołodziec, (a.k.a. Cholodziec / Kholodets / Hołodziec / Hołodki / Holodziec / Holodki / Холодец) which is located approximately 2-3 km from the Town of Kupiel (a.k.a. Kupil) currently located in the Ukraine. The Chołodecki surname first appears in the 16th century in Poland. The Chołodecki coat of arms is Bialynia (Bialynia / Bielina).
