Sammie (born in Boynton Beach, Florida on March 1, 1987) is an R&B Artist signed to Dallas Austin's Rowdy Records. He released a debut album in 2000 titled "From the Bottom To the Top" which was originally through Dallas Austin's Freeworld Entertainment label. At the age of 13, the album was released and included the singles "I Like It(1999)" and "Crazy Things I Do". The singles had a generous amount of radio/video play and the former quickly topped the Billboard Singles Charts. The album eventually achieved gold RIAA status, selling over 500,000 copies in the United States. A year later, Sammie appeared on the track "Hardball" with Bow Wow, Lil Wayne and Lil Zane. The track was released as a single from the movie's soundtrack of the same name. It had been rumored, and fueled by comments from hip hop producer Jermaine Dupri, that the young quartet would be releasing future tracks and a possible album under the group name "The Lil' Rascals", but the album never materialized and Sammie disappeared from the music scene shortly after "Hardball" was released, so that he could finish high school. Sammie and his family also moved to Atlanta GA from FL due to FL's hurricanes.

Sammie

In 2005 Sammie returned to music after appearing in "The ATL Anthem" with Jagged Edge, 112, Monica and T-Boz of TLC. The anthem was played during many Falcons and Hawks games. In 2005, Sammie graduated from high school and was signed to Dallas Austin's Rowdy Records in Atlanta, Georgia. The same year, his label announced his return and a new album. In 2006, Sammie released a new single titled "You Should Be My Girl" produced by Jazze Pha which features Sean Paul of the YoungBloodZ. The video featured Sean Paul, Lloyd Polite, Teairra Mari, Da BackWudz, Big Boi of Outkast, Jazze Pha and Dallas Austin. The single was the first off Sammie's new self-titled album. With the 1st single not as successful as had originally been anticipated, Sammie's self-titled sophomore album was later pushed back for a September 2006 release. The recently released 2nd single is "Keep It Movin'" featuring Da Backwudz. His next self titled album "Sammie" will be set to be released on October 10, 2006.

The album was leaked to the internet on the 2nd of October 2006.
