- Eastwood Mall (built 1960, closed 2004, demolished 2006) - Birmingham — A historically-significant early enclosed shopping mall and at one time the largest in the U. S. South.
- Riverchase Galleria - Hoover — The largest mixed-use complex in the Southeast (nearly 2 million sq footage) and a major Southern tourist attraction
- The Summit (1997) - Birmingham — The world's first official lifestyle center according to the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) considered to be the center that started the trend of lifestyle centers and open-air malls
- Dimond Center - Anchorage, Alaska (largest in the state)
- Arizona Mills - Tempe
- Biltmore Fashion Park - Phoenix - Made the Biltmore region of Phoenix internationally known, popular among celebrities and even presidents.
- Kierland Commons - Scottsdale - One of the first mix-used residential/retail/office centers in the nation
- Metrocenter Mall - Phoenix - The first regional mega-mall in the southwest and was for many years the largest mall in the United States.
- Scottsdale Fashion Square - Scottsdale - Largest mall in the southwest and third in the west. One of the twenty largest malls by retail area in the US.
- Beverly Center - Los Angeles — Largest mall near Beverly Hills. Hollywood celebrities are often seen here
- Del Amo Fashion Center (Mills) - Torrance — the second largest mall in the state
- Fashion Island - Newport Beach — major regional mall, featured in TV programs set in Orange County like The OC
- Glendale Galleria - Glendale — third largest mall in the state of California. Contains a large number of flagship stores, including international companies Tous and Flexa, as well as well-known domestic brands Hollister Co. and Bath & Body Works.

- Northridge Fashion Center - Los Angeles — largest and busiest mall in San Fernando Valley, damaged by the Northridge Earthquake in 1994 and since renovated
- Ontario Mills (Mills) - Ontario — largest mall in the Inland Empire, largest one-level mall west of the Mississippi River
- Puente Hills Mall - Industry - where Back to the Future was filmed
- Sherman Oaks Galleria - Los Angeles - featured in many movies, original hub of Valley Girl culture
- South Coast Plaza - Costa Mesa — the largest mall in the California by retail space (2.7 mil sq ft) and most profitable mall in the U.S. by total sales (over $2 billion in sales each year)
- Stanford Shopping Center - Palo Alto — upscale mall catering to Silicon Valley residents
- Stoneridge Shopping Center - Pleasanton — Previous Taubman mall, now owned by the Mills Corporation. Mostly upscale mall
- Stonestown Galleria - San Francisco — Only suburban-style mall in San Francisco. Very upscale

- Westfield Valley Fair - San Jose - Mega mall; arguably best in region.
- Cherry Creek Mall - Denver - The state's only upscale mall.
- Lark Ridge Mall - Thornton - Largest in the state, 14th largest mall in the nation
- Brass Mill Center - Waterbury, Connecticut
- Buckland Hills Mall - Manchester, Connecticut This mall is located just minutes down Interstate 84 from Hartford, CT in a fast-growing area of shops, restaurants and entertainment. This mall recently completed renovation and expansion and features Sears, JCPenney, Macy's, a large Dick's Sporting Goods store, Barnes and Noble and various other shops and restaurants. The mall is located in a diverse urban/suburban area.
