Universo cinematografico con protagonisti Godzilla e King Kong
MonsterVerse[1] è un media franchise crossover e universo cinematografico incentrato su una serie di film, prodotti e/o distribuiti in collaborazione tra Warner Bros. e Legendary Pictures, riguardanti i due mostri Godzilla e King Kong.
Il film che dà avvio a questo Universo è Godzilla del 2014, seguito da Kong: Skull Island del 2017. La serie proseguirà con Godzilla: King of Monsters nel 2019,[2] e Godzilla vs. Kong nel 2020.[3]

La pellicola racconta una storia originale su Godzilla, celebre kaijū del cinema giapponese, oramai divenuto un personaggio della cultura mondiale. L'uscita della pellicola coincide con il sessantesimo anniversario della nascita di Godzilla.[6]
