Jinping 1 Hydropower Station is a large water power project at the Yalong (Yalong Jjiang) in itself SCN, under construction, in southern central China. It also designation as "Jinping 1st cascade" or "Jinping No.1 hydraulic power station". In addition the dam serves the flood protection and the support of sediments. The project serves the goal of supplying energy from the economically weaker west to the closely settled east of China. The Jinping power station is on the border of the districts Yanyuan and Muli in the autonomous area Liangshan Yi of the province itself SCN. After other information the dam lies in Guangxi. The Yalong is very water-rich the largest tributary of the Jinsha and. The main structure will be 300 m a high elbow rope wall, to which a 3600-Megawatt-Kraftwerk is attached. Another source indicates the height of the concrete dam even as 305 m. In both cases it will become the highest or one of the two highest dams of the earth, since the Rogun dam with 335 m height is not yet posed. The only input clutch dam leading so far is also 300 m highly. The power station will have six sets with 600 MW each, together 3600 MW. It is one of the Chinese water power large-scale projects, which are at present in building or in planning and are from those the Three Gorge Dam the most well-known. Twelve of these power stations together are to supply 22,850 MW. (the 18,200 MW of the Three Gorge Dam are obviously not contained in it.) The Ertan dam with likewise 3300 MW is already finished. The project Jinping II is to follow later; it will have again 4700 MW capacity. The annual current production of Jinping I is indicated as 16,62 or 18,2 TWh (billion a KW/H). The construction work began on 12 November 2005. It is expected that 2012 the first river can be generated and the remainder work to 2014 is terminated. The company Thyssen supplied a cableway for the building site. For the project only 7479 inhabitants must be resettled according to available data.
