Conduritol

File:Conduritol.GIF Conduritol (1,2,3,4-~cyclohexenetetrol) has 6 optical isomers called A, B, C, D, E, F, but in nature only A and B can be found. The first conduritol was isolated in 1908 by Kübler from the bark of the vine Marsdenia condurango, so he named it conduritol. A number of conduritol derivatives has antifeedant, antibiotic, antileukemic, and growth-regulating activity. Also some conduritol derivatives show interesting biological properties including tumour-inhibitory, antileukaemic, and antibiotic activities. For review see.
