Array processing consists of using an array of sensors to:
- Enhance the signal-to-noise ratio compared to that of a single sensor (through e.g. beamforming).
- Determine the number of sources of propagating energy, the locations of these sources, and the waveforms they are emitting.
- Track energy sources moving through space.
- To Provide Multiple Access namely Space Division Multiple Access( SDMA).
