Tribute to the Troops
Tribute to the Troops (in italiano Tributo alle Truppe) è un evento di wrestling organizzato annualmente dalla World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) a partire dal 2003. Come indica il nome stesso, l'evento viene organizzato in onore delle truppe americane impegnate al fronte.
Storia
L'idea di organizzare il Tribute to the Troops venne in mente al wrestler John Layfield nel 2003, per celebrare il lavoro svolto dalle truppe americane in Afghanistan ed Iraq. Il primo Tribute to the Troops fu, in realtà, una speciale puntata di SmackDown! svoltasi il giorno di Natale del 2003 al Camp Victory di Baghdad (Iraq). Nel 2004 l'evento venne presentato nuovamente come puntata speciale di SmackDown!, chiamata Christmas in Iraq, ed ebbe luogo al Camp Speicher di Tikrit (Iraq).
