- Ayres has a penchant for playing younger male characters such as Kaworu Nagisa in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Pope Alessandro in Trinity Blood and Negi Springfield in Negima.
- Ayres has been the English counterpart of Akira Ishida three times, both of them played Kaworu in Evangelion, Chrono in Chrono Crusade and Satoshi Hiwatari in D.N. Angel.
- Ayres' older brother, Chris, is also a voice actor.
