On the Sunday of Life... è il primo album dei Porcupine Tree, pubblicato nell'estate del 1991 dalla Delerium Records. Fino a quel momento, Steven Wilson aveva prodotto, amatorialmente, pochi nastri che faceva circolare tra gli amici. La prima edizione, che su vinile occupa 4 facciate, conteneva una divisione interna dei brani, raggruppati per temi: First love; Second sight; Third eye; Fourth bridge; che nelle ristampe successive è sparita.

Il progetto originale prevedeva la pubblicazione di un doppio CD che raccogliesse i precedenti lavori (su nastro) "Tarquin's Seaweed Farm", "Love Death and Mussolini" e "Nostalgia Factory", ma Steve ha poi deciso di fare una raccolta dei pezzi migliori (i brani esclusi sono finiti nel CD "Yellow Hedgerow Dreamscape").
