Abu Ma'shar al-Balkhi

Ja'far ibn Muhammad Abu Ma'shar al-Balkhi (787 - 886) was a Persian astrologer and mathematician.

Many of his works were translated into Latin and were well known in Europe where he was called Albumasar.
