An effort was made to increase the diversity of candidates for this election. More extensive outreach was done to local community and Wikimedia movement affiliates (Affiliates) to recruit candidates from diverse backgrounds, geographic ___location, and languages. Additionally, a letter from the Wikimedia Foundation (Foundation) was posted to encourage candidates to run in the elections.
