One of his most striking features, besides his voice, is the number of tattoos that adorn his body. He has full arm sleeves as well as tattoos on his torso and back.
In addition to his work with Alexisonfire, Green also has a solo project named City and Colour, which revolves around songs of an acoustic variety.
Career
Before joining Alexisonfire, Green was in a band called Helicon Blue which produced many songs before breaking up. The three piece band featured Dallas Green on guitar and vocal, Marce Lanteinge on bass and vocal, and Nicholas Osczypko on drums. Early on, the band recorded a self-titled release consisting of five songs; Great Escape, Machinery Faintly Purred, Ballad in Blue, Things you find & And the words came Easily. Later the band met with Greg Below from Distort, who recorded a second record which included; My Last Breath, Sunder, Greater Victory & Perpetual Healing. Dallas began playing with Alexisonfire in late 2001. Since then they have released three albums (Alexisonfire, Watch Out!, and Crisis), and several EPs. His melodic vocals are often cast beside Screamer George Pettit, and Wade McNeil's Punk vocals. Green's band, City and Colour's first music video, "Save Your Scissors", from the now gold-rated album Sometimes, was released on January 17, 2006, featuring some of his best friends, and favourite places in his hometown, St. Catharines, Ontario. The second video, "Comin' Home", went number one on Much More Music's video countdown. Dallas Green appears on Neverending White Lights' collaborative album Act 1: Goodbye Friends of the Heavenly Bodies (which was released in 2005), contributing vocals to the song "The Grace".
Personal life
As well as singing and playing guitar, Green is a keen skateboarder and has been skating since he was a teenager.[citation needed]
Dallas has be seen sporting a Finish Strong shirt on the cover of Chart Magazine, Artist of the Year edition, or on his 2006 MMVA performance. Finish Strong is described as a brotherhood, a family of people dedicated to spreading a 'positive message out to those that choose to listen.' While Dallas is a member and proponent of the organization and what the message encompasses, he did not found it with Matthew Scapillati, despite the many rumors.
Green has one sister named Jordin,[citation needed] and he is in a continuing relationship with MuchMusic VJ Leah Miller.[1]
