Nathan Morley

Nathan Morley is an English television and radio presenter based in Cyprus and Finland.

He was born in Grimsby, England in 1974, but spent most of his life in Germany.

Radio and Television

Nathan Morley has presented a daily program since 1995 on the commercial network Radio Napa. He was the host of a late night talkshow program on the Greek channel Super Sport in the late 1990's. He also broadcast a weekly show on Radio One in Nicosia. His voice is heard on many English-language commercials on TV and radio in Cyprus and Greece.

In addition to radio, he is a national television presenter with Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation known in Cyprus as PIK. He reports for the German television and radio network Deutsche Welle and DWTV. He has recently been seen presenting programmes for Home and Travel TV on Sky Digital in the United Kingdom.

He works as a reporter for The Voice of America ,Vatican Radio and ORF Radio Austria. During the 2003 US invasion of Iraq he was a presenter with the USA Radio Network (Reporting from the Iraqi border), co-hosting and reporting for all of the networks news programs. The USA Radio coverage won a prestigious Katie Award in 2004. He has also been heard reporting for the network radio division of CBS News. He has reported from Jordan, Lebanon and Isreal for American radio.

In 2003 he appeared in many British national newspapers after describing Cherie Blair's singing ability as "appalling". Nathan Morley is also a regular voice on LBC radio in London, where he joins Steve Allen on Thursday mornings, he also reports for other LBC programmes. In late 2006 he joined Talksport as a reporter on the night time show. In the mid-1990's he was a regular voice on Chris Tarrant's Capital FM breakfast news reporting from Cyprus.

He broadcasts a weekly segment on BBC Radio Berkshire called "Euro News", from the BBC studios in Cyprus, with Phil Kennedy. He is also heard on BBC Berkshire providing 'interesting facts' through the day and night.

Nathan Morley writes a monthly column in the Famagusta Gazette newspaper and occasional columns for London Greek News and various other publications.

Uri Geller Stunt

He held a stunt radio prayer session with the psychic Uri Geller, but the effort failed to help England win the World Cup in 2002. "Listeners are supposed to touch the radio as Uri talks and say 'Win, England win' and channel all that positive energy to Japan", Nathan Morley told Reuters, in 2002.

Family

Nathan Morley is the son -in law of the ex-Finland goal keeper Lars Nasman and grandson of Grimsby Town supporters chairman Bernard Morley.

Awards

He was presented with the 2001 New York Festivals Silver World medal for broadcasting at a ceremony in Manhattan.

  • It has been reported that he is a recluse and avoids gatherings and public events. He has a dog called Chas, who is frequently mentioned on his radio programme. In April, 2006, snubbed an invitation to a VIP party being held by Canadian singer Bryan Adams saying live on-air on LBC that he would 'rather have his legs pierced'. He broadcast in Isreal in on April 29th 2007 on Radio Tel Aviv thanking Abie Nathan for giving him his break in radio.
  • According to the 2002 book Who's Who in British Radio (ISBN 1-900401-04-5), he was a presenter on the Voice of Peace radio station in Israel during 1993. This is confirmed in Keith Skues 1993 book Pop Went The Pirates.
