Concezione

Roll with the Punches è il nuovo album in studio di Bryan Adams dopo tre anni dal precedente So Happy It Hurts. Nella scrittura dei brani, si è avvalso di alcune collaborazioni, fra gli autori figurano Robert John "Mutt" Lange, Eliot Kennedy, Tony Nilsson e lo storico collaboratore Jim Vallance. L'album è prodotto dallo stesso Adams.

Descrizione

L'album composto da brani rock come "How's That Working For Ya" e "Be The Reason", e ballate piene di sentimento, come "Life Is Beautiful" e "Will We Ever Be Friends Again", si apre con Roll with the Punches, la title track, composta dallo stesso Adams e da Robert John "Mutt" Lange, la canzone ha una forte cadenza rock.[5][6] "Make Up Your Mind" parla della decisione, in una relazione, di andare avanti insieme o di voltare pagina definitivamente. "Never Ever Let You Go" è una dichiarazione di devozione, una a power ballad dal ritornello contagioso, il video musicale dedicato al singolo vede la presenza di Elizabeth Hurley e "A Little More Understanding" è un brano funk rock con un messaggio che si batte per l'unità in tempi difficili.[7]"Life Is Beautiful" è un brano a pacifista mentre "Love Is Stronger Than Hate" racconta la guerra attraverso gli occhi di un soldato, che ha assistito agli orrori della guerra e deve riadattarsi alla società."How's That Working For Ya" è una critica indiretta rivolta a chi si abbandona a se stesso "Two Arms to Hold You" è un'altra ballata incentrata su amore, fiducia e sostegno. "Be The Reason" è un brano rock che descrive sull'essere gentili con gli altri. Chiude l'album il brano "Will We Ever Be Friends Again" è una ballata malinconica, che parla della fine di una relazione e dell'incertezza su come e se gli amici potranno mai riavvicinarsi dopo una separazione, in concomitanza con l'uscita dell'album, Adams ha anche pubblicato il nuovo video del singolo girato in Islanda.[7]

Nel gennaio 2025, Adams tramite il suo sito ufficiale e suoi social network ha annunciato l'uscita del nuovo album, il 7 febbraio viene pubblicato il singolo Roll with the Punches[8][9]Il 6 marzo 2025 viene pubblicato Make Up Your Mind come secondo singolo mentre l'8 maggio 2025 viene pubblicato Never Ever Let You Go, [10]entrambi i singoli hanno ottenuto passaggi radiofonici in tutto il mondo e una rotazione costante nel Regno Unito, nella stessa data parte dal Regno Unito il Roll With The Punches Tour, riscoutendo pararei favorevli da parte degli adetti alla stampa del settore,[11][12][13] il tour mondiale nel 2025 farà tappa in Europa, Canada e Stati Uniti d'America, toccando le più grandi arene delle rispettive nazioni, con ospiti speciali come Pat Benatar e Neil Giraldo negli Stati Uniti The Sheepdogs in Canada e Melanie C nel Regno Unito. Il 17 luglio è stato pubblicato il quarto singolo dell'album A Little More Understanding.[14]Tutti i nuovi singoli pubblicati sono stati inseriti nella rotazione A-List di BBC Radio 2 nel Regno Unito. Insieme all'album è stata pubblicata un'edizione speciale contenente un secondo disco di registrazioni acustiche e un cofanetto che contiene uin terzo album di riregistrazione di brani indeiti o già pubblicati.[15]

Roll with the Punches ha debuttato al numero due nella Germania rock & metal albums,[16] e nella Regno Unito (indipendet)[17] al terzo posto nella Official Albums Chart nel Regno Unito, è il suo 12º album ad entrare nella UK top-ten albums,[17] in sesta posizione in Svizzera[18] e in Austria,[19]
