This Busy Monster (or TBM) is an indie band that was formed in the mid-1990s. They are known for their often confusing, somewhat disjointed songs with lyrics that flow due to their lack of cohesion. TBM's songs are normally made with all normal badn instruments (i.e. guitar, bass, drums) but with the addition of a clarinet. Their three full-sized albums, Like Icicles, The Curious Sofa and Fireworks, accompany many singles and EP's.
TBM is also well known for founding Barsuk Records, a popular record label among indie artists. Such bands as Death Cab for Cutie, The Aqueducts, Rilo Kiley, and They Might Be Giants have since been released on the label.
