Because my French is very poor, I must answer here in English. The Wikipedia 15 materials are available for any and all translation. We welcome your additions!

Wikipedia promotion in India

This is an extremely important initiative which I fully support. I have today commented on it in connection with the EN Wikipedia's Women in Red talk page as follows:

  • "I found the recently updated version of Wikipedia awareness interesting and pertinent to our own WiR interests. In particular, efforts to increase awareness of Wikipedia in India by means of a video in Hindi are likely to increase interest substantially (cf. progress in Nigeria). Recent figures show that over three quarters of people in India have never even heard of Wikipedia. (Surprsingly Wikipedia is best known in Spain (91%), better than in the United States (87%) and Britain (83%.) I think we should actively try to follow up on this initiative, possibly by including India as a priority in our future editathons and keeping abreast of any physical editathons in India itself. Maybe Rosie or others involved in Wikimedia planning could liaise with those involved to emphasize the need to include women in the Hindi-based initiatives to promote Wikipedia. We could also try specifically to involve Indian women students in propagating information about our activities and the support we offer."

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help you increase awareness of Wikipedia among Indian women.--Ipigott (talk) 10:11, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Question

Hello. You've created this map: click. Poland is marked with a dark blue color, which means that feedback was shared on the proposal. Could you tell me what sort of feedback was that? Who provided you with that feedback? Links highly appreciated. Cheers, tufor (talk) 19:12, 28 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

This pattern of distorted fake-realities is something, that pops up quite often with this branding enterprise. I'm beginning to loose my AGF towards this, as it's always distorted in the direction of the wanted outcome by some few staffers to legitimize their unwanted actions. Perhaps it's not just some errors, but deliberate. Grüße vom Sänger ♫(Reden) 10:23, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Will you participate in the discussion about the branding?

The only valid place for discussions about anything in the Wikiverse ist on-wiki, everything else ist just futile stuff. I don't see you participating in any discussion at all lately, why don't you answer at the appropriate venues, i.e. on-wiki, at least on Meta? Do you plan to say anything at all? Grüße vom Sänger ♫(Reden) 14:12, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello :) I have asked an essential question on the rebranding RfC page that for 10 days already is left unanswered. Could you answer it? I've pinged you twice but apparently you did not receive any notification; that's why I'm leaving this message here. Thanks in advance for your reply! Cheers, tufor (talk) 12:48, 27 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Feedback not shared by Wikimedia Morocco User Group

Hello Zack. This map says that "Feedback was shared on proposal" for Wikimedia Morocco (in Blue in the map). As the project coordinator for Wikimedia Morocco, I do not recall that we had any discussion on the brand within our group, nor gave any feedback or statement about that proposal as a group. Can you please explain us why Morocco is mentioned as an "Engaged affiliate"? We would love to give our feedback, but we did not receive any proposal and did not give any feedback on the past, so why is it mentioned that we gave feedback as an affiliate? I am also adding Reda to this discussion, as he is the president of Wikimedia Morocco User Group. Thank you in advance for the clarifications. Regards -- Anass Sedrati (talk) 14:14, 23 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Anass Sedrati! I spoke with you about the brand project during the Wikimedia Summit in Berlin last year, which was a key discussion point in our community feedback collection, and one of our best chances to learn directly from affiliate representatives. Samir and I would be happy to collect further comments from Wikimedia Morocco User Group and to invite the User Group to collaborate with us on the current work too! - ZMcCune (WMF) (talk) 16:45, 24 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hello dear Zack and thank you for your answer. Last year (2019) I did not attend the Wikimedia Summit as an affiliate representative, but as a strategy working group member :D Yes, our User Group is interested in giving feedback as a group, so please if Samir can reach out to us, our group will be happy to discuss and provide our feedback and actively participate in this operation so that the blue color and participation can make more sense :D Thank you again for your reactivity and kind answer -- Regards -- Anass Sedrati (talk) 16:53, 24 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sunday November 29 Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network meeting

Take flight with us.

The Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network (SWAN) is a developing forum for all Wikimedia movement affiliates to share ideas on the Wikimedia 2030 strategy process. It expands on the model of the All-Affiliates Brand Meeting to help lay some of the groundwork for a future Global Council.

Following up on the August, September, and October SWAN meetings, and June's All-Affiliates Brand Meeting, as well as strategic and outreach topics of mutual concern to all affiliates including the recent proposed changes to the Wikimedia Foundation Bylaws, this month we are meeting on Sunday November 29, and you are all invited to RSVP here.

(Note that the UTC times of and are the same as before, although a number of places have had daylight savings time changes since our last meeting).--Pharos (talk) 01:31, 27 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the invitation Pharos! I was with my family over the holiday weekend. Hope it was a great discussion. - ZMcCune (WMF) (talk) 19:16, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
