The community of Newbury Park, California is located entirely within the borders of the city of Thousand Oaks. Its historic Stagecoach Inn was used by people traveling from Los Angeles in the South to Santa Barbara in the North. It has been growing in population because of the biotechnology company Amgen, as well as numerous other businesses. Newbury Park High School has 1600 students, an Olympic size pool, and a newly refurbished football stadium. Located in Ventura County, the community contains two major new growth residential areas, Rancho Conejo Village (built on the site of the former Rancho Conejo Airport, where portions of the film It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World were filmed) and Dos Vientos. It is roughly 50 miles from downtown Los Angeles.
