For the last 6 months CIS-A2K has been working with 175 year old Pune Nagar Vachan Mandir Library to facilitate the scanning process in their digitisation set-up. After an official meeting with trustees, they have agreed to work with us to digitise PD books and upload them on Wikimedia Commons and Wikisource. CIS-A2K will support the digitisation process, right from selection of books till uploading on Commons & Wikisource with OCR. The financial assistance for scanning and technical support in uploading and other Wiki aspects would be provided.

First training session on Wikimedia Commons was conducted on 23-24 November in the library. The trustees and staff of the library attended this session. The copyright law, different licenses and Commons scope were discussed in detail. Hands-on activity for uploading books was also conducted.

They have already started uploading books as per the guidelines. You can see the books here - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Books_scanned_by_Pune_Nagar_Vachan_Mandir As on 25 December, 50 books have been uploaded. We have planned to upload at least 500 books till June 2022.
