Holly Marie Combs (born December 3, 1973 in San Diego, California) is an American actress who has worked in movies and television series, including her current role in Charmed. Since 2002, she has been a producer for Charmed. She lived with Charmed key grip David W. Donoho for four years before marrying him on February 14, 2004. She gave birth to a son, Finley Arthur Donoho, on April 26, 2004.
Holly was born to her mother Lauralei Combs when she was just 15 years old. Lauralei tried marrying Holly's birth father but the two split up after two years, being too young to have marriage as their final destination. At the age of seven, Lauralei took Holly and they moved to New York. Already her gorgeous looks were turning heads and she landed many print ads and commercials. Soon this lead to a desire to act, just as her mother had.
Holly's acting debut was on the 1992 drama Picket Fences. She auditioned for the role of Kimberly in New York. The casting agent told her that she wasn't right for the part because "She didn't have a big enough heart." Holly retorted, "If you're looking for someone with a big heart, what the hell are you doing in New York?" She immediately got the job. Picket Fences ran for four years, winning Holly critical acclaim and a Young Actor's award.
In 1993 Holly married Brian "Bugsy" Smith, but they divorced in 1997. Afterwards she was engaged to Storm Lyndon, but later split up in 2000. When Holly was in her best friend's car, who just happened to be Shannen Doherty, she saw the pilot script for Charmed on the backseat. Holly told Shannen that she wanted to audition. When they did, Holly auditioned for the role of "Prue Halliwell" and Shannen for "Piper Halliwell"... they ended up getting each other's roles.
Charmed which debuted in 1998, had an amazing line of cast and crew, but Holly had her eyes on Key Grip, David W. Donoho... they began living together, and when Holly was seven months pregnant, in February 2004, they married. In April, Holly gave birth to Finley Arthur Donoho through c-section.
