John Van Druten

John William Van Druten (1 June 190119 December 1957) was an English dramatist, best known for writing light comedies. He was born in London to a Dutch father and an English mother. Before becoming a writer, Van Druten studied law at the University of London. In 1944, he became a naturalized citizen of the United States.
