Migratory birds
Thanks for the comment. I should say that the changes I made is work done in order to clean up some problem Category pages. I agree with you that some of the birds probably should not be classified as migratory, but in order to get the moves done I assumed that the previous editors knew what they were talking about. I'm not even convinced there needs to be separate eastern and western migratory subcategories, but I did it. Greater bird brains than mine can decide to combine them if appropriate.
Feel free to add or subtract birds from these categories, I was going to add some NA waterfowl to the list. Snafflekid 17:07, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
In these new categories I now specify that they are for long-distance migration Snafflekid 23:50, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

i still have not been informed about why there was an article written about him. Do you not know the answer?

It's fine, I was making a page for a high school (as part of a project) and the school I was making (which happened to be my alma mater)'s mascot is the Hawk. The page on Hawks is too vague, so I looked for the most exact article that matches the mascot and it happened to be that one. So, I added that line to prevent any confusion for anyone who clicks the the link on the school's page. In the end I decided to just keep it at just plain Hawk, but forgot to revert the edit I made. I'm sorry. PRueda29 12:21, 16 September 2005 (UTC)
Thank you for raising the issue on my user page. I must admit that this article is somewhat borderline between proper article and a stub. My reference to length was made with an eye to paragraphs such as "Like the coursers, the pratincoles are found in warmer parts of the Old World..." - they all seem a little brief, and I think they might do with a little fleshing out with specifics. I am no expert on birds, and it is not my intention to belittle your contributions with a stub tag. If you are sure that no further information could reasonably be added to this article, please remove the tag - I will not revert it.
Also, what do you think about linking to the species in the group of birds in the body of the article instead of having them in the infobox? Enochlau 08:48, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

Nazca Booby
Hi - the original proposal was in:
"PITMAN, R. L., AND J. R. JEHL. 1998. Geographic variation and reassessment of species limits in the "Masked" Boobies of the eastern Pacific Ocean. Wilson Bulletin 110:155-170."
The split was accepted by the AOU in their 42nd supplement - there's also lots of stuff on the web - googling "Nazca Booby" will get you started - Steve
Image deletion spree
It seems Jimbo Wales has decided that Wikipedia must crack down immediately on unsourced/untagged images, and some zealous admins have gone on a bit of reckless deletion spree. I've been doing some mopping up after them, and noted that they deleted some bird images you uploaded:
- Image:Whitetailedeagle.JPG
- Image:Whitebackvult.jpg
- Image:Whitethroatspara.jpg
- Image:Whitebreastednuthatchykg.jpg
- Image:Whitethroatspara.jpg
I suspect there are others, but these are ones I've caught, courtesy of Zscout370 (talk · contribs), whom I suspect used a 'bot or other automated process. --Calton | Talk 16:05, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
- I didn't delete Image:Whitethroatspara.jpg, Zscout370, I always check with the uploader when I know they upload a lot of their own images, which is something that seems to have been overlooked in the {{nosource}} clean up.--nixie 13:19, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
- You can search the deletion log by file name, this is the link for the sparrow image [1].--nixie 13:25, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
