The Pirate was a 1948 American movie about a pirate, starring Gene Kelly, Walter Scott, Cole Porter and Judy Garland. It was notable for being one of the first movies to even hint at the presence of a homosexual character.

The score, by Lennie Hayton, was nominated for an Academy Award for Original Music Score, losing out to Easter Parade.
