Template:EP6 MEP image Adam Gierek (born on 17 April 1938 in Zwartberg) is a Polish politician and Member of the European Parliament for the Silesian Voivodship with the Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej - Unia Pracy, part of the Socialist Group and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. He is a son of Edward Gierek.
Gierek is a substitute for the Committee on Culture and Education, a member of the Delegation to the EU-Kazakhstan, EU-Kyrgyzstan and EU-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Cooperation Committees, and for relations with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia and a substitute for the Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly.
