Springfield's state, the name of which is never mentioned, is the state that the city of Springfield in the The Simpsons is located in. The state capital is Capital City. It is bordered by Maine, Kentucky, Nevada, and Ohio.
History
The state was founded by circus freaks, and was believed to be the ___location of New Sodom, due to misinterpreting a passage in the Bible. Settlers heading for the New Sodom instead however founded Springfield, built on Puritan values, and Shelbyville, built on marriage between cousins.
