WikiProject Football

I noticed you've made a lot of edits to football articles and wondered if you'd like to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Football. It's still new and there isn't a lot happening yet, but we're hoping to get things like a football collaboration of the (week/fortnight/whatever) going soon.

Alcohol advertising

Hi Dale. Thanks for your recent expansion of the sports sponsorship section of alcohol advertising. It is one section I've been hoping to expand (as with tobacco advertising) and you've come up with some examples I wasn't likely to know. Thanks for that. violet/riga (t) 16:42, 29 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Tri Nations

Damn, you updated so quickly after tonight's game that I fear you may have missed the post-match interviews. If you did, Bakkies Botha was man of the match. :-) —Stormie 15:08, August 6, 2005 (UTC)

Eek! Do you get any matches broadcast where you are?? —Stormie 15:16, August 6, 2005 (UTC)

Hi. We need articles written on Fußball-Bundesliga seasons from 1969/70 through 1975/76, in order to take them off the Wikipedia:Most wanted articles page! Since you've worked on similar pages, I thought you might want to take a crack at it. Cheers! -- BDAbramson talk 20:31, August 6, 2005 (UTC)

Pronunciation help

As the most recent person to edit List of names in English with non-intuitive pronunciations, can you help me out by adding the correct IPA sigils for "Leintwardine"? The closest I can describe it using ordinary letters is "Lentwurdine" (or lent+word+dine) and I don't understand IPA. PhilHibbs | talk

I'm going to ask on the Reference Desk as well so it might be solved soon PhilHibbs | talk

Request

Hi Dale, could you please slap a protected stamp on Football World Cup 1994 (squads)? User:85.165.217.156 continues to vandalize it by replacing teams of certain players. I am really tired of reverting him and all attempts to contact him, including putting comments on the page itself, have failed. Just make sure I'm the last editor before you protect it. --DR31 (talk) 17:47, 17 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks... Can you please also keep track of 1992 European Football Championship (squads), I have a feeling he's gonna assault that since he was keen on starting it, and failing (I'm gonna be away for a week). --DR31 (talk) 18:15, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
I was right, he just won't stop. He already got to 1992 European Football Championship (squads) (although he did correct a spelling mistake), and is now gonna go through 1988 European Football Championship, Football World Cup 1990, Football World Cup 1986 (He's now User:85.165.212.241). While it's commenable what he's attempting to do, what he's creating is... crap, and I don't have time to clean it up. I really don't know what to do. --DR31 (talk) 21:02, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
Intersting that this user is a nusuance on European football pages. He is also causing problems on the athletics pages as he trys to reformatt result tables. He is a mess (leaves pages in disarray) and has NEVER responded to pleas to discuss his changes (adds flags, changes name spellings and removes results). He has also used the following IP's User talk:85.165.200.37, User talk:85.165.198.135, User talk:85.165.225.156 and User talk:85.165.229.54 too. David D. (Talk) 21:01, 26 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

We need your input over there, we're having problems again with ZIP codes and golf coruse locations. Thanks

Also, you need to archive this talk page, it's getting too big --fpo 16:43, August 21, 2005 (UTC)

WikiSport tips

Hey, I have recently joined Wikipedia and decided to focus my contributions on the Sport articles. I saw that you have aquired a RunningMan barnstar and i was wondering if you had any tips on editing/creating or even finding sport articles to improve upon?

Texas Rangers

I wonder if you're going to write something about how the Texas Rangers have been stealing signs and relaying them to the Ranger's batters via the scoreboard? It must be true, because a White Sox pitcher complained about it, and that's one team that never whines about anything, right? And it helps explain why the Rangers are 12 games in front in their division. Oh, wait, they're not 12 games in front, their 12 games behind. Well, maybe they can only steal signs effectively when they're playing the White Sox. :b Wahkeenah 00:11, 1 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Had forgotten about Indy fiasco

Hey Dale. Must admit that I had totally forgotten about the six-car F1 Indy "race" when I added the bit about first race without mechanical retirement since 1961. Cheers

Football player infobox

Hi! Thanx for your attention in the new football player infobox. Actually I wanted to expand this infobox, your advice is welcome at the talk page. About what you changed: my idea was to give in the field playername the name that the player wears on his shirt. So for David Beckham it would be Beckham, but this could be discussed on the talk page too. Don't hesitate to improve the box since only few players have it at the moment (so it's easier to change things now): i'm no html specialist and this is my first template. Anyway, good edits, Julien Tuerlinckx 12:56, 19 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

1986 NBA Draft

Dale, HELP I am having a problem with an an anonymous User:203.134.48.170 on the 1986 NBA Draft article. I see some of his points, but his methods I can't get passed. Please keep an eye on it for me, it is ticking me off.

Also, have you thought about archiving some of your old talk entires?

Thanks in advance,

Dale, The information you added was found in the link on Leo Mazzone on Mineral County was not needed. That info is clearly displayed on the Leo Mazzone entry. NFR

Dale,

1) What are you trying to say with this sentence, it is confusing:

"Because of the large amount of money at stake in the NFR, the leader going into the NFR is often dethroned for the year's championship at that event."

2) Why don't you ever respond to my messages?

Quick question for ya

Dale, I wanted to drop you a line to ask if you'd be interested in voting on my admin candidacy. We've talked before on wikipedia briefly before so I thought you might have a somewhat good or positive idea of me and what kind of work I do. I'm kind of having a personal tiff with a certain user right now and would appreciate your vote if you feel i'm qualified enough. I also answered the usual questions at the bottom of my nomination form you can read if interested. I'd jut like to get the change to make wikipedia even better and I think this would allow me to do so. Just thoguht I'd see if you'd help me out with it. Thanks and I'll see you around the FP's I'm sure. --ScottyBoy900Q 23:33, 9 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:WikiProject Kentucky State Highways

Hi, Dale Arnett! Thanks for your edits to Kentucky State Highways. We can use all the help we can get. I've slowed down on creating any more articles as I am monitoring AfDs related to other highways around the country. They seem to be dying down with a consensus towards keep. I hope you consider adding yourself as a participant. Let me know if I can do anything to help. >: Roby Wayne Talk • Hist • E@ 05:55, 13 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Football templates and sponsors

Hi, Dale. I guess it would be better to discuss before to change the template; actually I don't think that the adding you've done would be useful. I have started a related discussion on here. I am waiting for your intervention in order to take a collegial decision about the matter. Ciao. --Angelo 18:45, 18 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Oh, sorry on advice, I wondered you were the one who changed the template! --Angelo 18:48, 18 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Rich Rodriguez

Dale, I think we've talked about WVU and the Mountaineers before so I thought you'd like to look over the article I wrote for Rich Rodriguez. It might need some proofreading and editing, I just thought I'd get you to look over it since I thought you'd be interested. See you around. --ScottyBoy900Q 03:53, 28 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hey thanks for looking it over. Just thought it'd be a nice addition. I'm trying to spruce up the WVU stuff. --ScottyBoy900Q 04:41, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Leinster Rugby Ladyboys

Hi,

I saw that you have contributed a lot to Leinster Rugby. An anonymous user just mentioned over at kathoey that "The Ladyboys" is a nickname for that team. I added that information to the team's article, but I don't really know if it is appropriate or even true. So please take it out if you think it doesn't belong. Cheers, AxelBoldt 19:14, 1 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Good work on the article. I know nothing about it, but as I understand, CÉGEP is not high school. If this is accurate, how about:
