I'm Not Playin' is the first and only album recorded by the hip-hop duo Ultimate Force which consisted of MC Master Rob and DJ Diamond D. The group was discovered and sponsored by Jazzy Jay in the late '80s and the album was recorded in his studio in the Bronx, New York between 1988 and 1991. Due to label politics the album was shelved and for the longest the only available material from the duo was the 12" single that carried the same title, considered somewhat of an underground classic.
Jazzy Jay collected the material from the shelved album and signed a deal with Traffic Entertainment to finally release the album in the middle of 2007. I'm Not Playin' is the first album produced by Diamond D and features the earliest recordings of Fat Joe who appears on two songs. The CD release is a double-disc that includes the accapellas and instrumentals of each of the albums tracks.
