Who assigned a 'numeric value' of 800 to omega? And on what grounds? That's more interesting than the number itself. Otherwise it belongs in the as legend has it file!User:Wetman

I believe that is intended to refer to the ancient Greek numeration system, in which α had the value 1, β was 2, λ was 20, and so on. I agree that the remark in the article is unclear. -- Dominus
