The Steyr TMP (Tactical Machine Pistol) is a fully automatic select-fire 9x19mm Parabellum caliber submachine gun manufactured my the Austrian Steyr company. It is renowned for having almost no recoil, allowing you to use the gun in bursts of up to 20 or 30(the full magazine size), instead of the typical 3 shot bursts that other SMG's allow. It is a submachine gun manufactured by Steyr Mannlicher. It is almost exactly the same as the Steyr SPP, only the TMP is capable of firing fully automatic as well as semiautomatic. Magazines come in 15/30 round detachable box types.
One of the main features of the TMP is the angled handgrip at the front of the gun. It has been reported that it is very comfortable to fire and easy to bring to bear and aim.
In the 1990s Steyr sold off the design to Brugger & Thomet who developed it into the Brugger & Thomet MP-9. It includes such features as integrated Picatinny rails.
TMP-46 or TMP46 is a prototype version chamberd for 4.6 x 30mm
Games
It is seen in the games Rainbow Six 3, Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero and Counter-Strike: Source as the "Schmidt Machine Pistol". It is a cheap weapon avalable to the Counter-Terrorists. It is equipped with an integrated silencer and if you have a Glock 18 Select Fire (9x19mm Sidearm) it shares the ammo due to being of the same caliber. The Terrorist equivalent in the games is the Ingram Model 10, or MAC-10.
This weapon has featured in games such as Rainbow Six 3, Counter-Strike and Resident Evil 4. The TMP was also featured in Perfect Dark under the name CMP150, with a target lock-on secondary function. The TMP is used by Alyx Vance in Half-Life 2 but has been modified. This weapon is very useful and accurate at close range. The TMP has also been used in the game The World is Not Enough, in which the gun proves to be inaccurate.
