Open port

Open port is a TCP/IP port number that is configured to accept packets. Contrast with a "closed port", which is set to deny all packets with that port number.[1]

Open port is considered as potential security risk and acts as an avenue for attack. Hackers use port scanning software to exploit the open ports.
