Café au lait spot

Cafe-au-lait spots (CAL) are pigmented birthmarks. Their name, which is French for "coffee with milk," comes from their light-brown color. While in most people cafe-au-lait spots are not associated with any medical problems, they may be linked with neurofibromatosis.
