General Policy

The Chapter recognizes the role of localized communities in developing their own programs that will benefit their respective Wikimedia projects. A Community serves as an arm of the Chapter that will advance its objective to promote the projects of the Wikimedia Foundation.

Communities

  1. A Community is a group of Chapter members aiming to develop a local Wikimedia project/s or to further the reach of the Chapter in a specific locality.[1]

Recognition

  1. Any group of at least three (3) regular members[2] may establish a Community in coordination with other members of the Chapter.

Administration

  1. The Board of Trustees shall have direct supervision of Communities, and shall refer to them matters and issues that directly affect them before making any decision.
  2. Communities must designate a coordinator to the Board, who must be a regular member and shall be responsible in communicating with a their respective community

Projects

  1. A Community may develop their own programs and projects, determine their manner and program implementation depending on their respective need.

  3. Funding of Community projects not included in the Chapter's Annual Program Plan may be source funding from the Microgrants Fund maintained by the Chapter upon the project's approval.

  1. "Locality" corresponds to a province when referred to locally, and a country whenever referring to overseas based Filipino communities
  2. Regular members are paying members.
