Born on August 23rd 1978, Julian Casablancas is the son of the founder of Elite Model Management John Casablancas. Though his parents divorced when he was young. He attended boarding school at Institute Le Rosey and later on at Dwight School in New York City.

He is a member of the band The Strokes, where he met his first band member Albert Hammond Jr. at Le Rosey, and when he transferred to Manhattan's elite Dwight School, it was there he met the rest of the group, Nick Valensi, Nikolai Fraiture and Fabrizio Morretti.
