Burscough

Template:GBdot Burscough is a small town in England, situated in West Lancashire, to the North of Ormskirk and Skelmersdale.

The A59 and Leeds - Liverpool Canal pass through Burscough. It has two railway stations: Burscough Junction railway station, on the Liverpool to Preston line and Burscough Bridge railway station, on the Southport to Manchester line, these lines formerly had a junction. There are several schools, shops and a large Tesco.


Burscough Football Club who play at Victoria Park recently won the FA Trophy and made considerable progress in the FA cup competition, unfortunately being knocked out by Burton Albion one game away from Manchester United (which Burton Albion went on to loose 5-0)

With constant developement of new housing estates and apartments, Burscough's population is growing rapidly. At the last census (late 90s) the population stood at 8,391, but it has now soared to well over 10,000.
