Welcome! Fàilte! Walcome! This is a notice board for Scottish Wikipedians, Wikipedians living in Scotland, and anyone else interested in Scotland-related topics. Here we may suggest topics or articles in need of expansion; highlight linguistic discussions; propose common projects; ask questions; or post anything else related to Scotland, Scottish people or things, or of interest for Scottish editors.
If there is anything you wonder about regarding Wikipedia or this notice board, don't hesitate to ask on the talk page. Also, major structural changes to the notice board should be discussed at the talk page first. Note that this page is modelled on other similar pages; see the Swedish Wikipedians' notice board for tips on use and formats; and it runs alongside the UK Wikipedians' notice board.

Announcements
- And now a very warm welcome to Portal:Wales.--Mais oui! 16:49, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
- A very warm welcome to the new Portal:England, which is developing rapidly. Which prompts me to mention that, although reasonable at the moment, Portal:Scotland could do with some review, progress and development, to make it truly excellent. The number one priority is really to benchmark it against other, better portals, and "nick" their good ideas (to be undiplomatic about it)! My name is down as the initiator and main point of contact, but I have been getting involved in (diverted by) other projects and would really appreciate it if some other SWNB participants could give it a look and suggest improvements. Best place for discussion is probably Portal Talk:Scotland, rather than here.--Mais oui! 12:52, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
Requested articles (to be created)

- See Wikipedia:Scottish Wikipedians' notice board/image requests for the full list.

- Scottish literature
- Tea (meal)
- As is expansion to include the fact that tea is dinner in some parts of Scotland (i.e. NE)? Or what? wangi 12:56, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
- That was not really what I was thinking of, although it is worth mentioning. No, I was more thinking of a brief presentation of the topic of the traditional Scottish high tea.--Mais oui! 13:03, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
- "Tea" for supper is not just in the NE. "Dinner" tends to mean lunch in much of Scotland. --MacRusgail 18:11, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
- As is expansion to include the fact that tea is dinner in some parts of Scotland (i.e. NE)? Or what? wangi 12:56, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
- The Two Babylons
- Neil M. Gunn
- The section on his main years as a writer remains sparse. It's 35 yrs since my dad got me to read these and my memory dims - anyone with more recent readings who can summarise there? AllyD 23:05, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

- Talk:William Reid
- Bank of Scotland
Scottish Episcopal Church - request for comment, expanded history, and a modest clean-up. Was the church formerly officially called the Episcopal Church of Scotland? If so, when did the name-change occur?--Mais oui! 06:48, 22 October 2005 (UTC)Underway- Torphichen Preceptory - still has Cleanup notice
- Transport in Scotland
- Create redirects for all Scottish football clubs, like this: Keith_FC (without dots) which redirects into Keith F.C. (with the dots) --MacRusgail 15:26, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
- Guys, anyone fancy helping out in purging WP/WC of the redundant saltires? I started this a few weeks back when replaced the main versions with two SVG versions: Image:Flag of Scotland.svg and Image:Flag of Scotland (traditional).svg. I've mopped up almost all of the images that were used previously, such that on en.wikipedia we're down to just the two new ones. However wikimedia commons has: Image:Scotland flag 300.png (usage) and Image:Flag of Scotland Pantone300.png (usage) - these are used a fair bit on the other language wikipedia sites. I'm going to work my way through them, but if anyone fancies lending a hand then great.
Would you beleive this has also lead to me replacing the Flag of Tenerife too!
Thanks/wangi 16:41, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

Possible candidates for featured article status
- Aberdeen as-is appears better than either the Edinburgh or Glasgow articles.
- Doune Castle - which is quite entertaining, and generally ok. Could do with (peer?) review and checking for any refinements needed. ..dave souza 12:14, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
- Edinburgh (as proposed by WikiProject UK geography: "... to featured quality by June 2006".)
- Glasgow
- Scotland
- William Murdoch - I'm trying to get this up to featured article level, it's been knocked back on the AID but as he is a neglected Scot perhaps some here can assist. AllanHainey 15:50, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
- William John Macquorn Rankine, needs a lot of work, but is of international/scientific interest. --MacRusgail 18:28, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
