Groudon is Pokémon #384 in the National Pokédex and #199 in the Hoenn Pokédex. Groudon is a legendary Pokémon, and is also the heaviest Pokémon. It represents the Pokémon Ruby game since it's portrayed on the box art cover of this game.

Name Origin

The name Groudon originates from the words "ground" and "don."

Avaliability

Groudon is only available in Pokémon Ruby, in the Cave of Origin. In Pokémon Sapphire, Fire Red, and Leaf Green, you need to trade from Ruby.

Information

Groudon has the power to scatter rain clouds and make water evaporate with light and heat. It came as a savior to people who had been suffering from terrible floods. It has long been described in mythology as the Pokémon that raised lands and expanded continents. This Pokémon took to sleep after a cataclysmic battle with Kyogre.

Team Magma seeks to wake up Groudon to help them achieve their goal of drying up the sea to increase the amount of land. Fortunately, they are never able to seize control over it.
