Gorseinon is the name of an electoral ward, a community and a town in the City and County of Swansea, South Wales. The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following areas: Gorseinon, in the parliamentary constituency of Gower.

The town of Gorseinon is also located in the traditional county of Glamorgan, south Wales. It was a small village until the late 19th century when it grew around the coal mining industry. Gorseinon hosted the National Eisteddfod in 1980. It is the birthplace of British Tory politician Michael Howard.

Penyrheol Comprehensive School is where 90% of 11-16 year olds go.

The town of Loughor is now essentially a suburb of Gorseinon.
