Robert Cornelius Mitchell (born June 6, 1935, Hot Springs, Arkansas) is a former American football running back/wide receiver who played for the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Browns. Mitchell is an enshrined member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.Mitchell was the first African American football player to play a game for the Redskins.

Mitchell played college football at the University of Illinois.
