Robert Barone

Robert Charles Barone is a fictional character from the American TV sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. He is played by actor Brad Garrett. Though Robert is four years older than Ray, he constantly feels as if he's stuck in Ray's shadow, and lets his feelings be known. He feels neglected by his parents, especially his mother, and is constantly negative and pessimistic. At times he wonders if he is gay. His main source of love, affection, support and encouragement is his long time girlfriend - and later wife - Amy (Monica Horan).

Robert's height, appearance and demeanor are the source of much humor. In the show's pilot, the character consistently elicited laughter from the audience simply by entering or leaving a scene.
