Question

Hi FireFox. I wanted to ask your permission to use your RFA thanks to thank the supporters of my RFA regardless of the final outcome. I found it while searching the userspace for a thanks template, and I liked yours. The draft of the template is here. Just let me know if I can use it after the RFA ends.

Thanks!--Adam  (talk) 14:34, 2 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hey FireFox, just a reminder, please remember to update the tally after voting. It isn't much, but it helps a bit in the counting. Thanks, --Jay(Reply) 20:11, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Template idea for Esperanza's "Trading Spaces"

How about we have anyone who wants their userpage improved add a template or something? I have a basic model, created in one of my usersubpages under {{User:Ikiroid/PimpMyPage}}:

PLEASE FIX MY PAGE!!!

It looks like it timed out, and in re-getting the pages, it used an old version. I think this is a pretty bug, but I will address it when I get a sec. joshbuddytalk 18:20, 5 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Prince article

Hello Firefox. My username is JediCarlos and my IP address is 158.97.80.160. I added the Trivia section and at least one other user besides me has added information to this Section as can be seen in 06:17, 4 April 2006 Matharvest m (→Trivia - formatting). Any idea why the Trivia section is being deleted? Is there anything we can do about it so the Trivia section does not get deleted again? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.97.52.43 (talk)

Keeping you informed

Hello Firefox. My username is JediCarlos. Ericorbit left me this message:

Hello JediCarlos. Regarding the Prince page, there is currently a question about whether the trivia section has relevence to that article. Please do not re-add that section without first contributing to the Prince Discussion page. Thanks. -- eo 18:15, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

I replied Ericorbit with this message:

Hello Ericorbit. My username is JediCarlos. I have read the message you sent me and I would like to know if you can help me since I don't know how I can contribute to the Prince Discussion page to talk about the Trivia Section. Do I need to create a new section? Any advice you can give me? Thanks!

I would like to know Firefox if I am doing the things correctly. Thanks!

Editing article

Hello Firefox. My username is JediCarlos.

Ericorbit sent me this message:

Hi JediCarlos, I assume you know how to view a discussion page (the "discussion" tab located at the top of any article). Once there, you can edit a discussion page the same way you would edit any other article... put your text below the part you want to respond to. Just make sure you sign any comments you make with four tildes 158.97.52.43 20:42, 5 April 2006 (UTC) and this will automatically append your name to the comments so people know who left it. You may also want to check the "history" tab to look at the "edit summary" text that people use when editing a page. With regard to Prince, there was a question about the validity of the "trivia" section as the contents seemed rather vague and need further explanation. This is why your addition was repeatedly removed - as you kept adding it without contributing to the coversation. Feel free to leave any comments there and all editors can come to a conclusion about the trivia. -- eo 20:28, 5 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have a question Firefox. Before I proceed as Ericorbit has told me, I guess I need to wait until the block for username JediCarlos and/or IP address 158.97.80.160 expires 18:14, 6 April 2006 right? Thanks

date/time.

How did you get the date/time on the top of your screen, which part of your monobook allows this? Thanks. —       nathanrdotcom (TCW) 22:41, 5 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Personal attacks on me

Thanks for the warning to Orcsun. But I'm afraid he wrote another page about me under a different login (but I suspect the IP should be the same). It was Softia, now has been deleted. I doubt that he will stop any time soon.--Konstable 11:43, 6 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Webpage information

Hello Firefox. I would like to add the following information to the Official sites subsection of the External links section in the Prince article:

  • www.emale.com Now links to NPG Music Club - Prince's official site, but originally it had another information. This webpage is mentioned in the song Emale from CD number 2 of the Album Emancipation (1996).

Is it ok if I do this? Waiting for your response before doing so. Thanks!

Webpage of January 9, 1998

Hello Firefox. I would like to add the following information

  • Love 4 One Another Now links to NPG Music Club - Prince's official site, but originally it said in its main webpage: welcome to the playground of the new power generation: the definitive place of gathering 4 all who love life, love God, lovesexy...a place where music, poetry and positive vibes can be shared freely without fear of retribution and every page offers a new awakening...a collective conscience of unity, love and truth so great every human will want 2 join. This site is the bginning of a webwide effort 2 change the vibration of the world...love 4 one another, the ticket... live, the ride... dig if u will a venture inside.

Again, I guess it is ok if I do this and waiting for your response before doing so. Thanks!

JediCarlos 19:32, 6 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Two different Domain Names in DNS (Domain Name System)

I see your point of view. But ___domain names npgmusicclub.com and love4oneanother.com have different administrative and technical contacts in the WHOIS database. Originally this webpages had different information (including www.emale.com) and I saw when they were linked to npgmusicclub.com so my point of view is that they should be included since originally they were different webpages.

What do you think of this explanation? Waiting for your response. Thanks!

Adding information

I understand. I am going to add it now and wait to see what happens. If another user deletes it, then I will try the Prince Discussion Page and not add it again until we get a consensus.

I will ask for your help Firefox to see how to reach a verdict though. Could you help me with that? Waiting for your response. Thanks!

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #2

The Barnstar Brigade is a new program aimed at giving more very deserving yet unappreciated users barnstars. It will officially start on 2006-04-09, but signing up is encouraged before this date:
"Here in Wikipedia, there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go un-appreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go un-noticed. Sadly, these editors often leave the project. As Esperanzians, we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. A project the size of Wikipedia has thousands of editors, so there are plenty of people out there who deserve recognition, one just has to find them. The object of this program is not to flood editors with Barnstars, but to seek out people who deserve them, and make them feel appreciated."
The Stress alerts program aims at identifying users who are stressed, alerting the community of thier stress and works in tandem with the Stressbusters at trying to identify causes of stress and eliminating them.
Information
Welcome to the second issue of the new format Esperanza Newsletter - we hope you still like it! This week, it was delivered diligently by our new dogsbody. MiszaBot (run by Misza13): any execution complaints should go to him. Content comments should be directed at the Esperanza talkpage. Thanks!
  1. The next elections: Approval voting as before and, also as before, an previous leadership member can run. Please submit your name for voting in the relevant section of this page. Voting starts on 2006-04-23 and ends on 2006-04-30. There will be three places up for grabs as KnowledgeOfSelf is leaving Wikipedia. Please see the previously linked page for full details.
  2. The Code of Conduct is now ready for extensive discussion! Specific comments should go to the Code of Conduct talk page, discussion of having one at all should be directed to the main Esperanza talk page.
  3. The current process for accepting proposals for new programs has been deemed fine. All Advisory Council members and the Admin Gen are to endevour to be bold when viewing discussion. If they feel that consensus has been reached, they will act accordingly.
A plea from the editor...
The propsed programs page is terribly underused! Please leave any comments, good or bad, on the page, to help us determine the membership's thoughts on the ideas there.

Legality

I believe that there is a page that needs addressing. It discusses bypassing certain registries on Windows Genuine Advantage and it gives explicit details. I don't think that Wikipedia needs the reputation of showing how to hack windows. Please consider deleting the circumvention section and keeping them from starting it up again. The site can be found here, Windows Genuine Advantage. thanks -- Damien Vryce

Recording Studio

Good Morning Firefox. Even though the website www.paisleyparkstudios.com is already mentioned in the section Purple Reign: 1982-1993 of the Prince article, it is my best opinion that this link should also be mentioned and included in the Official sites subsection of the External links section of the article; something like this:

I would like to know your opinion. Waiting for response. Thanks!

Admin software bug?

Your talk page has somehow been added to my watch list, apparently as a result of whatever you did to reverse the unauthorized move of Jimbo's name in other languages page. I'm not complaining, but thought you'd want to know of this possible bug. The vandal's talk page was also added to my watch list, and possibly others'.  Coyoty 19:58, 7 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Aha, I see what happened! When the vandal redirected Jimbo's name page to his talk page, his talk page and user page got transfered to my watchlist. When he then redirected your user page to his, your user page got transfered to my watchlist as well.  Coyoty 01:40, 9 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
