Image uploads
I noticed you've uploaded several images recently, like the nice addition to the Pink Floyd article. I just wanted to warn you that you need to add the source (ie. a URL, or a book/magazine if you scanned it yourself) of the image to the file as well as the fair use justification, or someone will flag it for deletion eventually. - dharmabum 06:04, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
Yaz / Yazoo article
You're quite correct - Yaz was indeed what Yazoo was known as in the US. I was confusing them with Yazz (formerly Yazz and the Plastic Population). D'oh. Gordonjcp 08:53, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
I agree the article is important. If I had enough expertise to help edit I'd vote for it. Would you consider bringing your proposal to Wikipedia:Featured Music Project? It looks like exactly the sort of project for them. Cheers, Durova 01:36, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
Homer Simpson wins!
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.
- Most of your edits were the unnecessary (and rather monotonous and stylistically awkward) replacement of names by "this artist", "this band", etc.; why? --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 10:47, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
- I see that you repeated your edits without bothering to respond to what I said above. I're re-reverted; please discuss your edits when they're disputed. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 21:54, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Just now I removed all the info, because its cluttering up the page. I did the "this band/artist" thing earlier because I though maybe its more encyclopedic. RomeoVoid 21:57, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- It wasn't "cluttering up the page", any more than any of the other contents; please don't make that sort of large-scale change without discussion. When you've been editing longer you'll perhaps be in a position to make such decisions, because you'll have a better idea of what's encyclopædic (and what's accepted in Wikipedia) and what isn't. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 09:33, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
Any more than what? The actual list? RomeoVoid 18:38, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yes. Now I see that you've removed the material again, this time with a misleading edit summary. If you continue to behave in this way, you face being blocked for disruptive and non-consensual editing. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 09:18, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
You win. Have the '80s list. RomeoVoid 18:18, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
I did add most of that info, but I guess that doesn't matter. RomeoVoid 18:21, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- You've just removed two entries, with no edit summary, and incorrectly marking the edit as minor. No-one "has" the list, but your comment implies that you've been doing the same sort of thing to other lists, which I suppose now I'll have to check. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 21:30, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
I removed them from the list because they're not one-hit wonders. Can you get that? They had more than one hit. RomeoVoid 22:23, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
I'm assuming you're going to ban me now right? RomeoVoid 00:17, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
In response to what you said earlier, I've been editing here under different names since 2003. RomeoVoid 03:21, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Reverts
Hi, you reverted my edits on the One-hit wonders in the UK page, but without addressing my rationale as put on the talk page. So I'm reverting back until we can reach a consensus. Jdcooper 18:11, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
- Heh, i suppose now i just come across as some freakish Babylon Zoo obessive. That section is strictly-speaking unnecessary, but I don't really mind either way. I make a point of not falling out with people on here, that would defeat the object of this project for me! Jdcooper 08:43, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
