CityPulse is the name of a Canadian news show broadcast on Citytv in Vancouver and Toronto, shown on the Citytv station at 6:30am, noon, 6pm and 11pm. It is also the name of the news department of the station. CityPulse is credited as the first news show to abandon the traditional anchor desk in favour of anchors standing up and walking around inside the actual news room.

The show originated in the mid-1970s and its format, pioneered by Moses Znaimer, has been copied by local news shows around North America. The show has also been duplicated by other television stations owned by CHUM Limited as well, it's format has been licensed to several television stations around the world such as Citytv Barcelona and Citytv Bogotá.

Notable contributors to the show include Stephen Lewis who provided a commentary for the program until his appointement as Canadian Ambassador to the United Nations and John Roberts (credited as J.D. Roberts), now with CBS News, who was an entertainment reporter in the 1970s and 1980s.

CP24

In 1998, Citytv created CablePulse 24 (commonly CP24), a Toronto cable TV station that is still Canada's only 24-hour local news channel. It shares the same staff as the Citytv newscasts.
