SGA Mascot Adoption Program
The Student Government Association of Winters Mill High School, in the events following Hurricane Katrina which devastated the Gulf Coast in September 2005, officially adopted L.E. Rabouin High School in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised over $6500 for the school during the 05-06 school year. The program, headed by SGA Treasurer Samuel Loewner, brought many community businesses together with the school, and included a large silent auction, featuring many varied products. The SGA put nearly all of it's profits into the project, though the project has yet (as of July 2006) to reach a conclusion, as the logistical problems in Louisiana have prevented a method to officially contribute the money.
