Jamshid Behnam (Born 1928 Tehran) is an Iranian (Persian) sociologist, writer, translator and one of the most influential figure in the developement of sociology in 20th century-Iran.

Jamshid Behnam hold a PhD degree in sociology from Sorboune University. he worked under the supervision of George Balandier.

He was a professor of sociology at Tehran University and vice secretory general, International council for social sciences of UNESCO.
